Dr. Michael Byers - Canadian Research Chair in Global Politics Law, UBC
Dr. Byers' work focuses on the interaction of international law and politics, particularly with respect to human rights, international organizations, the use of military force, the Arctic, and Canada-United States relations. He is a regular contributor to the London Review of Books, The Globe and Mail, and the Toronto Star. He will be speaking in the session titled, "Canada and the World: The View from Inside and Out."
Mr. John Vickerman - Vickerman & Associates LLC
John Vickerman will be speaking in the session titled, "Planes, Trains, and Trucks...Canada's Advantages and Disadvantages in Freight and International Trade".
Mr. Jayson Myers - President, CME
Jayson Myers will be delivering an economic update and telling us what we should expect in the near future.
Ms. Susan Gorges - CEO, SpringBoard West Innovations
Susan Gorges has extensive experience in the technology innovation sector. She worked in technology commercialization focusing on innovations out of the Los Alamos National Laboratory prior to taking a position as VP and general manager with a research and advisory company providing services to IT executives in the consumer products, life sciences, manufacturing and retail sectors. She has worked as an executive with two different start-up companies: one in manufacturing and the other in software. Both companies grew to become global operations with more than $150 million in annual revenue. Susan will be speaking in the session titled, "Investment Attraction: The How-To of Growing Your Company Through Outside Investment"
